The Upper Southampton Historical Advisory Board (USHAB) has a picture display at the Southampton Free Library showing the progression of the library from the first building at Second Street Pike, to the present-day library on Street Road.
The library was originally a project of The Southampton Women’s Club, who purchased the original property in 1933. The Southampton Women’s Club then transferred the property to the Southampton Library Association in 1936.
