Public Notice - Amending Chapter 9 - Abolishing Cable Advisory Board

PUBLIC NOTICE 

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Upper Southampton Township, County of Bucks, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, will hold a public hearing on March 10, 2020 at 6:30 PM in the Southampton Free Library, lower level meeting room, 947 Street Road, Southampton, PA 18966 to consider adoption of the following ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF UPPER SOUTHAMPTON, COUNTY OF BUCKS, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA AMENDING CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF UPPER SOUTHAMPTON TITLED “BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS” BY DELETING ARTICLE V TITLED “CABLE ADVISORY BOARD” AND ABOLISHING SUCH BOARD

TOWNSHIP OF UPPER SOUTHAMPTON 

                                                                                 ORDINANCE NO.         

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF UPPER SOUTHAMPTON, COUNTY OF BUCKS, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA AMENDING CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF UPPER SOUTHAMPTON TITLED “BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS” BY DELETING ARTICLE V TITLED “CABLE ADVISORY BOARD” AND ABOLISHING SUCH BOARD

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Upper Southampton Township established a Cable Advisory Board for the purposes of making recommendations with regard to cable television  franchises that serve the Township and further established specific functions of said Board; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Upper Southampton has determined that such Advisory Board is no longer required and/or needed to serve the residents of the Township.

NOW THEREFORE, the Board of Supervisors of Upper Southampton Township does hereby enact and ordain the following:

Section 1.  The Code of Ordinances of the Township of Upper Southampton is hereby amended by the deletion and repeal of Section 9-18 titled “Establishment; functions” of Chapter V titled “Cable Advisory Board”.  The Code of Ordinances shall be further amended to show such deletion and repeal.

Section 2.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

Section 3.  It is the intent of the Board of Supervisors of Upper Southampton that the provisions of this Ordinance shall become and be made a part of the Code of the Township and sections of this Ordinance may be renumbered or relettered and the word “ordinance” may be changed to “section” or “article” or such other appropriate word or phrase in order to accomplish the intention of the Board of Supervisors.

Section 4.  This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect five (5) days after adoption by the Board of Supervisors of Upper Southampton Township.
